Regardless of the outcome of the AWARE’s EGM on 2 May, there will be no winners, only losers. The battle can be fought and won over the elections, but the war has long been lost.
The brand name of AWARE which was built up painstakingly over the years was tarnished the moment its leaders chose to speak to the media instead of one another.
Josie Lau’s interview with CNA raises more questions than it answers. Several assertions in her interview seem to be inconsistent with the facts.
“A People’s Action Party (PAP) split by internal schisms. Future leaders bereft of the “huge political legitimacy” that could be gained from endorsement by the man with unmatched moral and historical authority.” – Er… A bit the dramatic, don’t you think?
I thought leaving would be easy. I was wrong.
